Reasons for Fogging in car headlights and Solutions!

As far as the overall structure of the headlamp is concerned, whether it is a common halogen headlamp, a xenon headlamp, or a headlamp with an LED lamp group, there is a ventilation rubber tube at the position of the rear cover, which generates a large amount of heat at the moment when the headlamp is lit or even when the headlamp is in use.
The function of the ventilation tube is to discharge the heat as much as possible outside the headlamp to maintain the normal working temperature of the headlight and ensure the stable use of the headlight.
Cause of Fog in Headlamps.
Water in the air will enter the headlight through the vent pipe and adhere to the lampshade. As water vapor gathers, water droplets will flow down the lampshade.
This situation is mostly caused by large temperature difference, which is most likely to occur in winter and rainy season. After the lamp is turned on for a period of time, the fog will be discharged out of the lamp along with the hot gas through the vent pipe, which basically will not damage the headlights and electrical circuits.
In this case, do not make a move, such as baking the headlights. If you do not operate properly, it is easy to damage the headlights.
In addition to changes in the weather, human factors will also make the headlights “shed tears.”
When a vehicle wades, as the engine and exhaust system are relatively large heat sources, rainwater will form a large amount of water vapor on them, and part of the water vapor will enter the headlight along the vent pipe.
Car washing is more direct. Some car owners prefer to flush the engine compartment with a high-pressure water gun. After flushing, the accumulated water in the engine compartment is not treated in time. After the engine compartment cover is closed, the water vapor cannot be quickly distributed outside the vehicle, and the water vapor that is stuffy in the engine compartment may enter the interior of the headlight.
How to Distinguish between Water Inflow and Fog?
Under normal circumstances, many people are not very clear on how to distinguish whether headlights are flooded or foggy, and they often think that water is flooded as soon as they see water droplets. In fact, there is a way to judge whether the headlights are flooded or foggy, that is, to check the traces of water flow.
We know that when headlights enter the water, they usually enter the water from above the headlights and then flow under the headlights. This will form obvious water flow traces, similar to waterfalls. Even if the water is dry, there will be some traces, just as there will be traces on the road through which snails pass.
How?
If you see that the headlights only form water vapor below and the top is still clean, it is generally a normal fogging situation. It is suggested that you can turn on the headlights frequently and dry the water vapor inside by turning on the lights, which can be dispersed in about a week after normal use.
You can also turn on the headlights in situ at idle speed for a long time or connect the charger and turn on the headlights.
For cleaning work in the engine compartment, the cloth should be used to wipe or high-pressure air should be used to blow, so as to avoid “tide-related” of engine parts as much as possible.
If there is serious water accumulation inside the headlight, it is necessary to remove it, open the lampshade, and after drying, check whether there is any damage or possible leakage on the headlight surface. If no abnormality is found, it is recommended to replace the sealing strip and vent pipe of the headlight rear cover.

How to read LED parameters?

The three parameters of LED are mainly brightness (lumen), color temperature (Kelvin) and light type.
Lumen value is closely related to brightness.
Generally, the higher the lumen value, the brighter the lamp. Many merchants will advocate high lumen value to prove that the product is bright, but in fact they have not tested and calculated the lumen value with the correct method.
In general, manufacturers use integrating spheres to comprehensively measure lumen values. However, lumen value is a test result and is affected by many factors.
Current magnitude, thin thickness of lampshade, calculation algorithm and so on all lead to great differences in lumen value, so it is incorrect to judge whether the lamp is bright or not and whether its performance is excellent based on a single measured lumen value.
The color temperature is not the higher the value, the better.
Color temperature is a unit of measurement that indicates that light contains color components. The natural light source in the daytime belongs to a higher color temperature. The human brain will be more energetic and the human eye will feel more comfortable under high color temperature illumination.
Therefore, this is also the reason why the color temperature of the headlights is closer to the natural light in the daytime.
The above picture can clearly feel the difference caused by different color temperatures to the eyes, and the color temperature 6000K is the most comfortable value relative to the eyes.
The color temperature of lamp products from major light source factories in the market can reach 6000K. 6000 K is the natural sunlight color temperature between hot sun and cloudy sky, which makes people feel very comfortable.
If the color temperature is higher than 6000K, the color of the light will be blue. If you drive under the lamp with high color temperature for a long time, your eyes will also have obvious discomfort.
The automobile light type refers to the angle and shape of the car headlights light.
A good light pattern has two important positive effects on headlights.
One is a clear light pattern cut-off line, which is a necessary guarantee for safe driving. If there is no clear cut-off line between light and shade, the light type is not only scattered but also not concentrated. What is more serious is that when meeting the driver, the driver will feel dazzling, shake his eyes and affect driving safety.
The second is that a good light pattern can illuminate a wider front road surface, and the driver will have a wider left and right visual field to discover people or animals that suddenly appear from both sides of the vehicle at night.
On the basis of satisfying a clear cut-off line, make the distance between 50m and 75m in front of the car as bright and clear as possible, which can help the driver to find obstacles earlier. The longer and wider the beam closer to the car head, the wider and better the irradiation range.

【LED Driving Light】Driving at night is inevitable for all car owners, so what should we pay attention to?

1. Timely check the car working condition of the instrument
The main purpose of driving at night to check the dashboard is to listen and watch, observe whether the engine and chassis have abnormal noise or smell, keep driving at a moderate speed, pay attention to increasing the distance with the vehicle, and be ready to stop at any time to prevent collision between the front and rear vehicles.
2. Pay attention to the use of lights
When driving on roads with street lamps, anti-glare lamps or dipped beam lamps and marker lamps can be used. When driving through the intersection at night, you should slow down at a distance of 50-100 meters from the intersection, change the high beam light to the low beam light, and turn on the turn signal to indicate the direction of travel.
3. Pay attention to the conversion of near and far light
In cities, pay attention to pedestrians crossing the road. When driving at night, the low beam light should be used when the vehicle speed is below 30km/h, and the light should illuminate 30m away; when the vehicle speed is above 30km/h, the high beam light should be used, and the light must illuminate 100m away.
4. Respond to unexpected road conditions in a timely manner.
When reversing or turning around, you must find out the moving terrain, the safety limits of the upper and lower parts and the surrounding areas, and then reverse or turn around. leave more room for entering or turning around. if you cannot see the target clearly, you can use a flashlight or other lights to illuminate.
5. Use the method of repeated exchange of near and far lights to replace the horn.
No horn is generally used for driving at night, and the method of repeatedly exchanging near and far lights is usually adopted. When parking temporarily at night or for some reason, the marker light and license plate light should be turned on.
When driving at night, overtaking should be avoided as much as possible. When overtaking is necessary, the front situation should be accurately identified, then the front car should be followed up, the near and far lights should be continuously changed, the front car should be warned to avoid, and the distance between workshops should be appropriately increased during overtaking.
6. Please use car headlights with high brightness and long range.
In order to save costs, general automobile factories only equip their vehicles with halogen lamps. Halogen lamps have a short range, narrow-angle and low brightness, which are only less than 800 lumens and have extremely fast light decay. Generally, they can only be used for 200 hours.
The Vanten LED headlamps to have ultra-high brightness, which can increase the visible area of 40-60 meters for your driving, increase the emergency response for 2-3.5 seconds, and greatly increase the driving safety.
At the same time, the auxiliary function of blind areas on both sides of the front of the car is introduced to enable the driver to find the danger ahead and on both sides more quickly, thus ensuring the driving safety.
Vanten LED headlamps do not need to be preheated and started like halogen lamps and xenon lamps, and can reach maximum brightness at the moment of starting, allowing you to see the intersection and pedestrians in front in time.
In addition, LED lamps have a working life of tens of thousands of hours, which is more than 20 times that of halogen lamps and xenon lamps, and the aging light attenuation is longer than that of halogen lamps and xenon lamps, thus reducing the trouble and time for you to change lamps frequently.

What do you think about Tractor Safety and LED Work Lights? If you don’t know, you must click it!

Since tractors took over the workload of horses and mules in the first part of the 20th century, they have made a major impact on modern agricultural production.
Tractors play a major role on the farm.
Tractors transport equipment and material, pull implements and provide power for other equipment. They are the most common piece of farm equipment.
Tractors are intended to assist operators in doing work on the farm. They can be large and very powerful.
But, their size and strength can be the source of harm when not used properly.
For example, what might happen if the LED lights on a tractor are not working?
Other vehicles on the roadways could not see the tractor at night and may collide with it. I believe this is definitely not the scene we wish to see.
LED Lights on tractors are required from one-half hour before sunset to one-half hour after sunrise. Otherwise, during this time period, the tractor operator cannot see clearly to drive and other vehicles cannot see the tractor.
Tractors must have sufficient lighting that can be seen from a distance of 1,000 feet.
A white light in the front of the vehicle is required. On the back of the tractor, there should be two red lights as wide as the machinery and on the highest part of the tractor, there must be two flashing, amber lights. These lights are in addition to the SMV emblem on the back, the middle section of the tractor.
You get up before the sun rises, and sometimes you don’t enter the room until the sunsets. This means that your tractor needs proper lighting.
We suggest installing floodlights on tractors and work trucks. Floodlights provide powerful lighting and are easy to use. We provide round or square floodlights to meet any unique requirements. When installing anywhere on the tractor, you will be able to quickly flood an area with light output from light emitting diodes to help you complete your work.

【LED Fog Lamp】You must know something about fog lights if you drive often!

In the morning, you walked out of the house with coffee in your hand and were surprised to find a large white area in front of you, covering the earth. This is a foggy morning, making your commute slow and difficult.
At night, it is very difficult for you to see the road in foggy and stormy weather, making your way home difficult.

You know, under such circumstances, it is not enough to rely solely on the headlights of cars. Fortunately, there is such a solution.
Fog lamps are designed for this situation, and their safety features are far better than ordinary headlamps. Some top fog lamps enable you to see the driving environment more clearly.
Regarding fog lamps.
Built-in fog lamp.
Some vehicles are equipped with fog lamps already installed. Generally, they use halogen lamps, which are very common and cheap compared with LED fog lamps. However, even the best halogen fog bulbs cannot be used continuously.
Aftermarket fog lamp.
If your vehicle does not come with standard fog lights, adding them is not very costly. Some come with kits that allow you to retrofit them. If you want a factory look, you may have to uninstall the bumper and add a special grille to your vehicle. Or you can purchase universal fog lights and pick a place to mount them, such as the grille or bumper.
Some best LED fog lights.
4-inch LED fog lamp with two sides flashing strobe lights and adjustable mounting bracket.
They provide a common choice for all vehicles. The lighting lamp has die-cast aluminum alloy heat sink with a service life of more than 50,000 hours. They are dustproof and waterproof in up to 3.3 feet of water for 30 minutes.

The lighting lamp is reasonable in structure, durable and bright, and can be seen in rainy and snowy days. White light makes everything easy to see on the road. They have point beam directionality and are easy to install. The wiring is long enough to reach the factory fog light wiring harness plugs from the stock bumper mounting location.

Perhaps some people will wonder if fog lamps are illegal.
My answer is please check your local regulations.
Depending on where you live, your town may have laws related to fog lamp color. The location and other attributes of fog lamps may also be specified. For example, if the fog lamps are aligned too high and/or too bright, it may not be legal.

Is the dipped beam also blind? 3 minutes to teach you to adjust the lamp height!

I don’t know if you’ve ever had the experience of driving at night with the low beam light on, but the opposite car still flashes the light twice to indicate that you are driving the high beam light.
Maybe there is something wrong with your light.
The height of car lights is adjusted when leaving the factory. Generally, there is no big problem. However, if your headlights have been repaired or replaced, the height of lights may be inaccurate.
If the height is too high, there will be a high beam effect. If the height is too low, the visibility at night will be very low, seriously affecting safety.
So, what exactly is the height of the headlights?
First, find your lamp adjustment button.

The headlight height adjustment button is usually installed behind the headlight assembly. We need to open the hood and find this small rotatable button.
What should we do before adjusting the height of the headlights?
Before adjustment, we need to ensure that there is no one in the car, and if there are any heavy objects, we need to take them away to prevent the car body from sinking and affecting the accuracy of height adjustment.
Some steering wheels are equipped with lamp height adjustment knobs, so it is necessary to reset the gear first and find a smooth road surface with walls, even underground garages. Take a tape measure, measure the dipped beam and record its height. Then mark the same height on the wall, both sides.

The marked position is the installation height of the headlight as the reference standard for adjustment. After marking, we can start the car, turn on the dipped beam, and let the car be within 3-10 meters of the wall surface, on the premise of clearly seeing the light-dark boundary.
After the preparatory work is completed, the adjustment will begin.

When adjusting the height of the lamp, it is necessary to ensure that the height of the dipped beam lamp is not higher than the installation height of the lamp, and marks have been made on the wall surface before, so we adjust the light-dark dividing line of the lamp to be not higher than the marks.
The low beam lamp should be left low and right hight, and the left low and right high refers to the left low and right high of the lamp shape, i.e. “asymmetric low beam forward illumination system”. Therefore, we still need to ensure that the left and right lights are at the same height when adjusting.

If the high beam is split and needs to be adjusted separately, the method is the same. However, the high beam is a relatively large spot and there will be no clear light-dark boundary, as long as the center of the spot is aligned with the installation height of the high beam.

Do you know Most roads in North America and other parts of the world are not lit by road lighting systems?

Most roads in North America and other parts of the world are not lit by road lighting systems that are fixed on masts, so car lighting is a key component for safe driving at night.
The performance requirements for automotive headlamps are based on standards and recommendations issued by the Association of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and similar industry organizations.
These requirements specify the minimum or maximum luminous intensity of illumination from the center of the vehicle lighting system in different directions.
Countries outside North America also have similar photometric performance requirements.
These regulations may differ in details, but they all specify the luminous intensity in order to ensure that the vehicle lighting system provides sufficient light for drivers to see the road, reduce glare to other drivers as much as possible, and ensure that vehicle signal lights can be detected in a timely and clear manner.
